Description
The marriage application is a form that was filled out to obtain the license. This hand written application should contain the name, place of birth, date of birth, residence and occupation of both parties. If either was under the age of 21, a parent or guardian would sign consent. If either had been married before, it would be stated on the form, and how the marriage was dissolved (divorce or death).
The date the license was issued, the name of the person performing the marriage and usually the marriage date are also included.
