The book “Genealogical and Personal History of Fayette County, Pennsylvania” was published in 1912 and provides family histories on many of the families that were living in the Fayette County area in 1912 and earlier. These biographies do not include in-depth details about every member in each family, but most often provide marriage and children info, parents, siblings, etc. For the individuals who may have been key figures during the time, more information is usually provided.
When you choose this service, you will receive a thorough search of the book for the surname you have provided. Please provide the surname of the family you are seeking along with as much information possible about the members of that family – names of parents, siblings, children, spouses, and any known dates. I will thoroughly search this book to find any reference to the family you are searching.
While this book is on a CD, the format is not searchable using a computer. All requests will be manually searched using the index and reading through entries that look like they may have some relevance to determine if they are part of the family you are searching. The format also does not allow me to select the content, so any results found will be transcribed and sent to you in a MS Word, Text File, or PDF document.
There are very few photos in this book and they are not the best of quality. If your results include a photo, I will send you the best possible copy of the photograph that pertains to your family.
It has been my experience that about 50% of the families I am asked to look up are not included in this book, so I do not charge a “not found” fee.
