Marriage Records, Minnesota

Marrcert1

Description

I can obtain copies of Minnesota marriage records held by the Minnesota Historical Society. MHS holds the records for over a dozen MN counties (listed at http://bit.ly/1k2ENwD), including Hennepin and Ramsey counties, with many records dating back to the mid-1800s. (Records for counties not listed will likely need to be obtained directly from the county.)

There is no guarantee that MHS has indexed and added all of the listed records to their microfilms, but I haven’t had any problems with it yet.

Since I usually go to the History Center on Saturdays, turnaround time may be up to one week.

If I’m unable to find the record based on the information you provide—which rarely happens—I will let you know how and what I searched and there will be no charge.

Ordering instructions from hoffm610

First, check the MHS website (http://bit.ly/1k2ENwD) to be sure that it has marriage records for the specific county and during the time you are seeking.

If it’s in MHS’s holdings, then I will need the marriage date (either exact or within 3 months), the name of the groom (and the bride, if available), and the county the marriage occurred in.

If you need records for more than one person, include the information in your request and select the number of records needed from the drop-down below.
