Description
I will visit the Circuit Court Archives to obtain a copy of a naturalization record from the Circuit Court, Criminal Court, Superior Court, or County Court when you provide me with information from the Illinois, Northern District Naturalization Index, 1840-1950, online for free at FamilySearch.

Please note: Records before 1906 provide little or no genealogical information. This page summarizes the information you’d expect to see broken down by year.

Some of the early records are loose documents and I’m able to scan them in color using a flatbed scanner. Later records are in large tightly-bound books. I use a digital camera to take color photos of those pages. I’m careful to hold the camera still and I try very hard to minimize the keystone effect. I think you’ll find the images very clear and readable but if you’re not satisfied with my first try, I’ll retake for no extra charge on a subsequent visit.
Turnaround time will vary depending on when I receive your request but I usually make a weekly trip downtown. If you have questions about this offering, just message me.
