I can search for your ancestor’s death notice or obituary in any New York State newspaper currently held on microfilm at the New York State Library. The library has thousands of newspaper titles from many NYS localities and various time periods (ranging from the 1700s to present day) available for searching. For the fixed price, I will search ONE newspaper for a seven day period beginning with ONE ancestor’s date of death for daily newspapers or 4 weeks following the date of death for weeklies. You will be provided digital scans of the newspaper header on the first page, the entire page on which the notice is located, and a close up scan of the notice itself. I can turn around requests within one to two weeks. Please be aware that death notices/obituaries range from a short notice with only the deceased’s name and date of death to a full obituary with a wealth of information. In addition, not every death was recorded in a newspaper especially prior to 1900. As the same amount of searching is required whether your ancestor is located the same rate will apply for “no record found”.
