About Me

I developed a passion for genealogy in 1975, and spent many hours at the Family History Library as a young adult. Beginning in 1999 I learned to read names, dates, places, and relationships in handwritten German records. After a few years I decided to pursue a formal degree. In the summer of 2011 I studied in southwest Germany and traveled through my ancestors' villages in Vorarlberg, Austria. In May 2012 I finished a BA in German from the University of Memphis.
